Nissan Kicks SUV Transforms Into A Giant New Balance Sneaker

Nissan collaborated with New Balance, replicating the looks of the 327 sneakers on a special electrified Kicks SUV to star in a new marketing campaign.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power 4WD served as a base for this project which is clearly not destined for production. The SUV received a special wrap covering the entire bodywork and rear windows, which makes it look like an oversized copy of the New Balance 327.

If the different textures and the stitching of the shoe weren’t enough, Nissan also added shoe lashes on the bonnet and a bespoke roof extension mounted on the SUV’s roof rails. This add-on is the icing on the cake, styled after the upper portion of the shoe and making us believe that a giant foot could slide into the Kick’s cabin.

The Nissan Kicks 327 Edition will remain a one-off, which will surely frustrate many shoe-themed car fans in the process, promoting both the SUV and the sneakers. Whoever snaps a photo of it driving around in Japan, can post it on Twitter and participate in a special contest. The winner will get an actual JDM-spec Nissan Kicks e-Power 4WD.

Nissan will also give away pairs of New Balance 327 sneakers to some lucky followers from those who will retweet the official post. Finally, those who live in Japan can visit the New Balance store in Ginza, Tokyo, on January 24, in order to get a sticker that can be traded for a free cup of macchiato in Nissan’s Crossing Cafe.
